Nature as a Creative Guide

Nature as a Creative Guide

Nature rarely creates perfect symmetry.

Leaves bend. Stones carry irregular surfaces. Branches grow in unexpected directions, and water constantly reshapes everything it touches.

These imperfections are often more interesting to me than perfect geometry.

I do not try to reproduce nature literally in my jewelry. Instead, I look for the movement hidden inside it.

Looking Beyond the Object

A leaf does not necessarily become a leaf-shaped piece of jewelry.

What interests me may be the way its surface folds, the direction of its veins, or the curve created when it moves in the wind.

That small observation can eventually become the line of a bracelet or the surface of a ring.

The original reference slowly disappears, leaving only its rhythm.

Translating Movement Into Metal

Metal appears solid and permanent, while nature is constantly changing.

Bringing these two ideas together creates an interesting tension.

Through shaping, bending, polishing, and removing material, metal can begin to feel softer and more organic.

A rigid surface can appear to move.

A simple curve can feel almost alive.

Quiet Inspiration

Some of the strongest ideas come from things we normally pass without noticing.

A shadow moving across a wall. The edge of a stone. A dry leaf. The surface of water just before it becomes still.

These moments do not need to be dramatic.

Sometimes the quietest forms leave the longest impression.
